To Begin with a Happily Ever After
I don't know why people think that tragedy is necessary for a good story. I don't understand the point of pain. And, why can't happiness be just as an Oscar-winning element to a movie? Why does violence, pain, rape, and sin sell? And pictures of rainbows and bunnies collect dust on shelves?
I think happiness is the greatest story of all.
And why can't people just let go of their pain? And why does it matter to have a tragedy? And why all heros have that as prerequisite before their happily-ever-after.
And why can't the story begin with '...and they lived happily ever after...' And then the story continues about their happiness and their ever-after.
Why does we use tragedy to justify a good ending? Because nothing should end tragically - so why do we have to live and endure the tragedy and end with the happiness? What's the point of the good thing happening at the end?
Why not experience it now?
I just don't understand. Not at all. Not one bit.
Let's be happy now.
Let's laugh until our insides feel like their bursting with yellow giggles. Let's talk late into the night and feel like we're all one person because we see eye-to-eye and connect. And feel like, "my God... life is great." The kind of feeling that you get when you had mind-blowing conversation. And you go to bed at night knowing that connecting with this person was the best kind of happiness in the world. Let's spin in circles and collapse from the ecstasy of adrenaline. Let's enjoy each other's company.
Let's just be happy now. Right now.
Why do we have to wait for at tragedy? I want to begin my happily ever-after right now.
Right now.
Right now.
Right now.
Once upon a time.
